well, what means "thump up for recording Palawan"? I'm sure you're paying royalties for the tracks and therefore you can record everything you want, because Jarre is member at SACEM (similar to MCPS, BIEM, STEMRA, GEMA, BUMA, ...) - you need no "thumb up"!

I've had my CD for a week or two now and its ace. Musical highlights include Zig Zag Dance (nice Mini Pops sounds!), Oxygene 6 (refreshing!) Calypso 2 (superb) and Equinoxe 7 (just listen to that classic bass line.) All in all, well worth the money. Superbly presented and no doubt highly collectable in future. Well done all. Wonderfull CD! I didn´t expect there to be so much music and so great tracks! (more than 2½ hours). Before I got the cd I thought it was kind of expensive - but not anymore! It well worth every cent. OK, I admit it. When Bill Canty's 'Oxy 4' started playing, I thought "Oooh, bad choice." By about the third minute, though, I was starting to get it. And when the big orchestra hit, I got goose-bumps. Bill has totally redefined a song that has been so inadequately covered in the past. Not only that, but he seems to have bridged the gap between the two Jarres - father and son. In addition, and this is just my opinion, I think that if Jean Michel hadn't 'rushed' to complete Rendez-Vous following the Challenger tragedy, it may well have sounded just like this. My compliments to Bill for his vision and production, and to Glenn et al for the courage to put this very unusual track on the tribute album! Oh, by the way, the rest of it is also excellent!

I wanted to take a minute and thank you for all your efforts to produce theses recordings. Hearing Jarres music played by other artis is very interesting and i am enjoying it very much. I believe in 2000 years if man kind is still around Jarres name will be mentioned with Beethoven and Mozart maybe by then traditional music and electronic music will come together or replaced by something we cannot even conceive of. For now i hope we get 25 more years of this talented mans music. Thanks again. Anyone who loves this man's music will want to own the tribute cd set you put to together. Ed, California.
